Amber and Cody met online in January of 2020, and from the very first messages—and nonstop phone calls—they knew something special was unfolding. They planned to meet for drinks and an arcade date, but Amber couldn’t wait; she called Cody and asked him to meet her at the restaurant she was already at: Applebee’s, of course! The chemistry was instant, and they ended up talking until the restaurant closed. Their arcade date still happened afterward, where they shared their first kiss in a Luigi’s Mansion game stall. Over the next five years, they tackled adventures big and small—navigating COVID, adopting their orange cat Theodore, and building a life full of laughter and love. On December 28th, 2024, Cody proposed in the middle of the ice rink in downtown Detroit. They chose to elope in honor of their faith, but this July they can’t wait to say their vows again and celebrate with all their friends and family.
